If you live in an older home it’s likely that you have an ugly bathroom like I do. Well this one is about to get a major makeover on a budget!
This is the bathroom that my 3 boys share, and while it’s perfectly fine as far as it’s usefulness, it could definitely use some TLC.
Full bathroom remodels aren’t always attainable,But instead of living with this sad, outdated space I’m going to use things around my home PLUS around $750 to give it a much needed makeover!
DIY BUDGET BATHROOM PLANS
Painting Walls & Ceiling: I have leftover paint from previous projects so I painted the walls and ceiling essential for FREE! I mean, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!
Wall Color: Dunn Edwards Light Beige, Ceiling Color: Sherwin Williams Canyon Clay
Painting Cabinets: The outdated oak cabinets will be getting a fresh coat of paint to match the ceiling as well as new soft close hardware and cabinet pulls. I have cabinet primer and hardware leftover from a previous project so the only expense here will be cabinet paint! See my FULL tutorials on how to PREP and PAINT cabinets.
Painting Tile Floors: This will be a brand new project to me but I have done all of the research on how to do it successfully, so stay tuned because you WONT want to miss this budget friendly DIY.
Small Tile Project: The wall behind the boys vanity is the perfect place for a small tile project. Choosing a tile that comes in under $10/sq ft will transform the space AND keep me within budget.
New Accessories: New accessories alone can transform a space. This bathroom will be getting an updated shower curtain, new faucets, hand towels, rug and hooks
DIY BUDGET BATHROOM MOOD BOARD
The boys are fully embracing the modern southwest boho vibe and requested a bathroom filled with dark pops of color, cacti and fun!
FAUCETS | CACTUS TOWEL HOOKS | CABINET HARDWARE | SHOWER CURTAIN | HAND TOWELS | RUG
I cant wait to bring this space to life for them!

I’m excited to see the updates on this project moving forward! Especially what you end up doing with the tile floor, I didn’t even think about painting our tile floors. Looking forward to the future posts!
